Ashli Wicker's title changed to Assistant Director of Athletics – Game Day Experience on August 31, 2026, better aligning her title with her responsibilities and focus on the experience of fans and guests attending Griffon Athletics events and other major functions.
Wicker oversees key areas of the Griffon game day experience, including ticketing, parking, concessions and the overall game environment. Her role also encompasses the attendee experience at major campus functions, including fundraising events, the Griffon Athletics Hall of Fame, golf tournaments and the annual Golden Griffons awards show.
Wicker was elevated to Assistant Director of Athletics / Home Events in July 2024. She officially became a Griffon in May 2023, taking control of home events, game day and ticketing operations for MWSU Athletics. She also oversees departmental special events, including a role with Kansas City Chiefs Training Camp.
BEFORE MWSU
Before MWSU, Wicker served as the Head Volleyball Coach at Lake Land College in Mattoon, Illinois, from 2015-2023. During her tenure, Wicker guided the Lakers to a 152-133 record. She led three NJCAA All-Academic teams, coached 13 NJCAA Scholar-Athlete award winners, three conference Freshman of the Year award winners and 27 all-conference selections. She was named the 2016 Great Rivers Athletic Conference Coach of the Year.
In addition to her coaching role, Wicker served as Lake Land's TRIO Learning Skills Specialist, working to recruit and retain eligible students, track academic progress and develop and schedule workshops for TRIO students. Wicker also has experience in social media and sports information management.
Prior to becoming head volleyball coach, Wicker served as an assistant coach for three years following her two-year playing career at Lake Land.
Wicker earned her bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Wellness and Fitness from California University of Pennsylvania and her master's degree in Sports Administration from Eastern Illinois University.
