7/19/2010 - BIRD NAMED NGCA DIVISION II ALL-AMERICAN SCHOLAR
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Griffon women’s golfer Natalie Bird (Carl Junction, Mo.) was named to the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) All-American Scholar Team. Bird was an All-MIAA performer as well as the MIAA Freshman of the Year in 2009-10. Bird was also Missouri Western women’s golf student-athlete of the year.

4/21/2010 - WOMEN’S GOLF SIGNS TWO STUDENT-ATHLETES FOR NEXT SEASON
St. Joseph, Mo. – Missouri Western Women’s Golf Coach, Cathy Habermehl, has announced the signings of two student-athletes that have committed to play golf for the Griffons beginning next fall.

4/20/2010 - GRIFFON WOMEN FINISH 3RD AT MIAA MEET; BIRD NAMED MIAA FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR
Final Results
KANSAS CITY, Mo. –
The Missouri Western women’s golf team finished in 3rd place at the MIAA Conference Championships just six strokes out of second place firing a two round total of 676 (336-340). Freshman Natalie Bird took home MIAA Freshman of the Year honors as she finished in a tie for second place shooting a two round total of 156 (80-76). The winner of the event was the University of Nebraska-Omaha as they shot a two day total of 627 (318-309) while Truman State finished second with a 670 (328-342).

4/13/2010 - GRIFFON WOMEN FINISH THIRD AT PARK UNIVERSITY SPRING INVITATIONAL
Results
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. –
The Missouri Western women’s golf team finished third at the Park University Spring Invitational which was played at The Deuce @ the National Golf Club in Kansas City, Mo. Western shot a two round total of 694 (354-340) nine strokes behind Fort Hays State who finished second shooting a two round total of 685 (348-337). Concordia-St. Paul won the event shooting 656 (338-318).

4/12/2010 - GRIFFON WOMEN SIT IN THIRD AFTER DAY ONE OF PARK INVITATIONAL - ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Missouri Western women’s golf team sits in third place after day one of the Park University Spring Invitational being played at The Deuce @ the National Golf Club in Kansas City, Mo. Western shot a round one total of 354 just six strokes behind Fort Hays State who is in second place. Concordia-St. Paul leads the even by ten strokes firing a 338 on day one.

4/8/2010 - GRIFFON WOMEN WIN NWMSU/MWSU GOLF EVENT BY 64 STROKES - Results
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. –
The Missouri Western women’s golf team posted a final round of 344 to claim the 64 stroke victory over the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats in the NWMSU/MWSU Golf Event. Western finished the competition shooting a two day total of 706 (362-344) with the first round being played at Mozingo Golf Course in Maryville, Mo. and the final round being played at Fairview Golf Course in St. Joseph, Mo.

4/7/2010 - GRIFFON WOMEN LEAD MWSU/NWMSU GOLF EVENT AFTER DAY ONE - MARYVILLE, Mo. – The Missouri Western women’s golf team leads the Northwest Missouri State University Bearcats by 35 strokes after day one of the MWSU/NWMSU Golf Event held at Mozingo Golf Course. The Griffons shot a day one total of 362 while the Bearcats shot 397.

10/16/2009 - WOMEN'S GOLF FINISHES 2ND IN FINAL TOURNAMENT OF THE FALL - OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Missouri Western women’s golf team finished in 2nd place in the Avila Fall Invitational. The Griffons shot a two day total of 669 (339-330) with freshman Natalie Bird shooting 163 (82-81) which helped her earn the #4 medalist position. Truman State won the event shooting 658 (329-329) in the ten team event which marked the last tournament of the fall for Western.

10/7/2009 - WOMEN’S GOLF CONTINUES TO IMPROVE - The Missouri Western women’s golf team has made dramatic strides so far this fall season. The Griffons have finished in the top ten in every event and have improved as a team by more than 100 strokes. So far this season the Griffons have seen consistency throughout its line-up with four different players finishing in the top spot (Kristin Cooley, Casi Webb, Natalie Bird and Lexi Webb (2)).

10/5/2009 - WESTERN WOMEN FINISH 5TH IN UNO FALL CLASSIC - VALLEY, Neb. – After shooting a season low 318 yesterday the Missouri Western women’s golf team shot a final round of 340 to finish in 5th place in the UNO Fall Classic with a two round total of 658. The Griffons finished just eight strokes behind fourth place finisher Augustana College (S.D). The host school Nebraska-Omaha won the event shooting a two round total of 619 (304-315) ten strokes better then second place finisher Upper Iowa.

10/4/2009 - WESTERN WOMEN IN 5TH AFTER ROUND ONE OF UNO FALL CLASSIC - VALLEY, Neb. – The Missouri Western women’s golf team continues to improve as they shot a career low 318 in the first round of the UNO Fall Classic. Western sits in 5th place just six strokes out of second and 14 out of first. Nebraska-Omaha leads the classic with a low round of 304.

10/2/2009 - GRIFFON WOMEN FINISH SECOND IN BEARCAT INVITATIONAL - MARYVILLE, Mo. – The Missouri Western women’s golf team finished in second place behind Nebraska-Omaha in the Bearcat Invitational as they shot a two round total of 700 (338–362). The Mavericks shot a two round total of 670 (321-349). Second place marks the highest finish for the Griffons this fall.

The Griffons shot a two day total of 676 (335-341) which tied them with Winona State (329-347). The winner of the event was Nebraska-Omaha shooting a 637 (322-315) six strokes better then Gustavus.

9/25/2009 - WOMEN’S GOLF SITS IN 10TH AFTER DAY ONE OF THE MUSTANG INVITE - MARSHALL, Minn. – For the second straight invite the Missouri Western women’s golf team are in Minnesota. Western sits in 10th place after shooting a team total, 335 in the first round of the Mustang Invite hosted by the Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs in Marshall, Minn. Gustavus and Wisconsin-Eau Claire are tied for the lead shooting a 317.

9/21/2009 - WOMEN’S GOLF FINISH IN 8TH AT WILDWOOD LODGE INVITE - LAKE ELMO, Minn. – The Missouri Western women’s golf team finished in 8th place at the Wildwood Lodge Invite hosted by Concordia St. Paul University. The Griffons shot a two round total of 689 (347-342) with Lexi Webb leading the way shooting a 169 (86-83) putting her in a tie for 28th place. The winner of the event was Winona State University shooting a 639 (319-320) one stroke better then Nebraska-Omaha.

9/15/2009 - WOMEN’S GOLF FINISH TIED FOR SEVENTH IN THE DRURY FALL SHOOTOUT - SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Missouri Western women’s golf team moved up three places on the final day of the Drury Fall Shootout finishing in a tie for seventh with Harding University. Western shot a two round total of 657 (336-321) in the opening event of the fall portion of their 2009 schedule. The winner of the event was Southern Indiana shooting a 611 (310-301) two shots better then Nebraska-Omaha.
