JOSEPH, Mo. - The Missouri Western tennis team will compete in the MIAA Championship Tournament this weekend at the Plaza Tennis Center in Kansas City, Mo. The Griffons will open up action on Saturday, April 24 against the #1 seed Northwest Missouri State Bearcats at 9:30 am. 3/30/2010 - GRIFFON TENNIS FALLS 8-1 AGAINST TRUMAN - Box Score
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The Missouri Western tennis team fell to the Truman State Bulldogs 8-1 in MIAA action in St. Joseph, Mo. The Griffons lone victory came from their No. 6 single player Sarah Hatten as she beat Kirstyn Sampias 6-2 and 6-1. The Griffons sit at 1-7 overall and 0-3 in MIAA play. They return to action on Friday, April 2 when they take on Baker University in Balwin City, Kan. Match time is set fro 1:00 pm.

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Missouri Western tennis team fell in a close match against the Fort Hays State Tigers by a score of 5-4 in St. Joseph, Mo. at the Noyes Tennis Courts. Western won three of the six singles matches but was unable to get the victory falling to 1-6 overall and 0-2 in MIAA action.

OMAHA, Neb. – The Missouri Western tennis team fell to the Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks 9-0 in Omaha, Neb. in their first MIAA match of the season. The Griffons struggled to get anything going against the Mavericks as their closest match was in No. 3 singles where Kayla Daughtry fell 7-5 and 6-4 against Heather Hottman of UNO. ST. JOSEPH, Mo.- The Missouri Western tennis team fell in two matches on Friday and Saturday. Western fell to the University of Missouri-St. Louis on Friday, March 12 by a score of 8-1 and then fell to the University of Nebraska-Kearney 9-0 on Saturday morning. The Griffons sit at 1-4 overall and will return to action on March 23 when they travel to Omaha, Neb. to take on the Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks. Game time is set for 3:30 pm.

3/3/2010 - GRIFFON TENNIS MATCH WITH NORTHWEST MISSOURI STATE RESCHEDULED - ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The Missouri Western tennis match scheduled for today with Northwest Missouri State University has been rescheduled for Wednesday, April 21 at 3:00 pm in St. Joseph, Mo. The match is scheduled to be played at Noyes Tennis Center but if there is poor weather it will be played inside at the St. Joseph Tennis and Swim Club.

11/30/2009 - GRIFFON TENNIS SIGNS TWO FOR 2010-11 SEASON - ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Missouri Western women’s tennis coach Ron Selkirk has announced the singing of two players to NCAA National Letter’s of Intent.  The Griffons will bring in two products of Savannah High School as Katie Field and Katherine Guinn signed to wear black and gold starting in the fall of 2010.

2/28/2009 - WESTERN TENNIS IMPROVES TO, 3-0 - ST. JOSEPH. Mo. – The Missouri Western Griffons improve to 3-0 on the season with victories over Westminster 6-3 and Baker University 5-4. The Griffons won four of the six singles matches and two of the three doubles matches against Westminster. Against Baker, Western took four of six singles matches and one of the three doubles matches.
