5/10/2008 - LONG BALL ENDS GRIFFONS SEASON IN MIAA BASEBALL TOURNAMENT
KANSAS CITY, Kan. � The Fort Hays State Tigers held off a late rally by the Missouri Western Griffons and claimed a 4-3 victory in an elimination game at the MIAA Baseball Tournament Saturday afternoon (May 10) at Community America Ballpark. Missouri Western finished its season with an overall record of 25-24 with the defeat.

5/9/2008 - GRIFFONS FALL 6-4 TO CENTRAL MISSOURI ON FIRST DAY OF MIAA TOURNAMENT
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. � Missouri Western State University fell for the fourth time this year to the University of Central Missouri, 6-4 in the first round of the MIAA Conference Tournament. The Mules jumped out to an early 5-0 lead and would hold on for the two run victory to improve its record to 39-14 on the season.

5/9/2008 - PIVOVAR RECEIVES POST-SEASON HONORS
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. � Missouri Western State softball player Shannon Pivovar was named to the second team 2008 Daktronics Division II SIDs All-North Central Region Softball Team for her play at second base this past season. Pivovar was also named to the Honorable Mention All-MIAA team last week at the MIAA Conference Tournament.

5/8/2008 - GRIFFON BASEBALL HEADS TO KANSAS CITY, KAN. FOR MIAA TOURNAMENT
The Missouri Western State University Griffons head to Kansas City, Kan. this weekend for the MIAA Intercollegiate Conference (MIAA) Tournament set for Friday-Sunday, May 9-11. Missouri Western State (25-2; 22-14 MIAA) is seeded third and will battle the No. 2 seeded Central Missouri Mules (38-14; 26-8 MIAA) at 12:00 pm noon on Friday, May 9 from Community America Ballpark. Central Missouri took 3-of-4 games from the Griffons this season, all which were close games. The last time the Griffons were in the MIAA Tournament was in the 2006 season when they were eliminated in two games.
