GRIFFON WOMEN FINISH THIRD AT PARK UNIVERSITY SPRING INVITATIONAL Tuesday, April 13, 2010
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Missouri Western women’s golf team finished third at the Park University Spring Invitational which was played at The Deuce @ the National Golf Club in Kansas City, Mo. Western shot a two round total of 694 (354-340) nine strokes behind Fort Hays State who finished second shooting a two round total of 685 (348-337). Concordia-St. Paul won the event shooting 656 (338-318).
Kristen Cooley shot the best for the Griffons finishing in ninth shooting a two round total of 168 (90-78). Her 78 tied her for the low round with two other players in the event. Natalie Bird finished in a tie for 11th place shooting 170 (86-84) while Lexi Webb, Casi Webb and Darcy Smith shot 178 (90-88), 183 (88-95) and 189 (99-90).
Southwestern Community College player Courtney Huppert won the event playing as an individual firing a 158 (78-80) which was four strokes better then second place golfer Laura Petterson of Concordia St. Paul.

The Griffons will wrap up the spring portion of their schedule on Monday, April 19 and Tuesday, April 20 when they participate in the MIAA Conference Championships held at Tiffany Greens Golf Club in Kansas City, Mo.
