Day One Results EDMOND, Okla. - Griffon Men's Golf stands sits in 13th place after two rounds of the UCO/Kickingbird Classic at Twin Hill Golf Course. The Griffons posted a team score of 591 (296-295) which is five strokes out of seventh place and 36 back of the leader Cameron University as they posted a 555 (271-284) on the first day. Missouri Southern posted the best first day score from an MIAA team with a 586 (296-290) which puts them in seventh place.
Cyrill Bouniol of Abilene Christian and Jason Timmis from Cameron lead the event shooting a five under 135 after day one. Junior Derek Thorne shot the best rounds for the Griffons posting a 145 (74-71) which puts him in a tie for 27th place. Daniel Crawford shot a 149 (75-74) while Corey Youngclaus, Jordan Kincade, and Logan Gilliland posted scores of 150 (72-78), 151 (75-76) and 154 (80-74) respectively.
The teams will play the third and final round tomorrow, Tuesday, April 6 at 8:00 am.
Missouri Western State University (located in St. Joseph, Mo.) is an NCAA Division II institution and a member of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association.
