Missouri Western Athletics is committed and obligated to the principle
of institutional control in operating its athletics program in a manner
that is consistent with the letter and spirit of NCAA, MIAA and
University rules and regulations.
The commitment and obligation to operate the intercollegiate athletics
program in adherence to the principle of institutional control is both
institutional and individual. The University's commitment to maintain
control of its athletics programs through the responsible
administrators, faculty, and institutional bodies; to educate coaches,
staff, student-athletes and other individuals involved with the
athletics program in their institutional responsibilities under the
rules; to develop operating systems within athletics department and the
University that provide guidance in how to work within the rules; and to
discover and report any violations of rules that occur. Each individual
involved in intercollegiate athletics is obligated to maintain
competency in knowledge of the rules; to act within his or her realm of
responsibility in full compliance with the governing legislation; and to
report any violations of NCAA, conference and/or institutional rules of
which he or she is aware.

Eric Kramer

Compliance Coordinator
Eric Kramer enters his first year as the
NCAA Compliance/Academic Coordinator at
Missouri Western State University.
Kramer will be responsible for all NCAA
rules education, eligibility, and
monitoring for student-athletes,
coaches, athletic staff, and boosters as
well as tracking the academic progress
of all student-athletes. He is also the
SAAC Advisor and serves as the community
service contact for Western.
Prior to his time at Western, he worked
in the Wichita State University Athletic
Department for four years. The past two
years Kramer was the Compliance/Academic
Coordinator and was responsible for the
academic progress of the women’s
basketball, track & field, tennis, and
softball teams as well as assisting with
the day-to-day compliance duties. His
first two years were spent as a graduate
assistant in their Athletic Student
Services Office.
Kramer is a 2002 graduate of the
University of Missouri-Columbia with a
degree in Business Management. He also
received his Master’s in Sport
Administration from Wichita State in
2005.
