Wood-chip Walking Trail

Wood-chip trail closed

The scenic 2.2 mile walking trail that begins behind the Baker Family Fitness Center is temporarily closed because of the construction of the new indoor sports and recreation center that will host the summer training camp of the Kansas City Chiefs. The walking track around the football field at Spratt Stadium will also be closed.

We apologize for the inconvenience, but the closure is necessary to protect the safety of the campus community and visitors. Please note that there are other walking opportunities available on campus:

·         An asphalt walking trail begins in Parking Lot H, behind Baker, circles Everyday Pond, and continues out James McCarthy Drive to Faraon Street, then west to the bridge over Interstate 29. The trail is approximately 1.5 miles long (3 miles round trip).

·         Approximately 1.1 miles of wide sidewalk circles the heart of campus along Downs Drive.

The wood-chip trail will reopen in summer 2010, when construction is complete. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
