Construction Closes Facilities

The area in and around Spratt Stadium is now a construction zone. To protect the safety of the campus community and the general public, this area is now closed. Please do not travel beyond the barricades that have been put in place on the driveways leading to the stadium.

·         The wood-chip walking trail that begins and ends near the Baker Fitness Center will be closed until construction is complete. Also, Spratt Stadium will be closed except for university-approved events, so the track around the field will not be available for walking. Please note there are other walking opportunities available on campus. Click here for more information.

·         The Frisbee golf course behind Baker is closed.

·         The softball complex is being demolished as part of the construction phase. A new softball field will be built east of McCarthy Drive and south of Faraon Street.

·         The Chris Faros Alumni Pavilion (the gazebo just west of Spratt Stadium) will remain in place. But because of its proximity to the construction site, it will be unavailable for use until construction is completed.

Spratt Stadium will host six home football games, eight home soccer matches and the St. Joseph Football Jamboree this fall. Detailed information about fan parking and access during these events will be announced later.

Thank you for your patience during the construction of a facility that will provide a home for the Chiefs three weeks every summer, and outstanding recreational opportunities for Western and the St. Joseph community the remaining 49 weeks of the year.
